Tramterview with Kai Lemmetty of Floobs

Posted by Janne Saarikko on April 20, 2009

This is the latest tramterview from last Friday. I was taking a tram to YLE (Finnish BBC) strategy seminar and Kai Lemmetty of Floobs was riding with me.

In this short tramterview he talks about what Floobs is up to nowadays, tells me about the cool things they do with soccer leagues such as Spanish premier league La Liga  in Europe .

The audio quality is not the best, I’ll have to work on that to improve it. E71 works perfectly in doing these ad hoc clips, but still looking forward to see N97 enter the market.

Who would you like to see tramterviewed? There are lot of interesting people in Helsinki, and I see most of them quite often. If you would like to see and hear your online contact, let me know and I’ll catch a tram with them!

Twitbear launched – Twitter with comments thread!

Posted by Janne Saarikko on February 23, 2009

It’s here! Mark this date – February 23rd, 2009.

This is the day when a new Finnish service called Twitbear went to closed beta.

Twitbear

Twitbear is a project of three social media entrepreneurs – @anttiakonniemi @kaimaan, @heleneauramo – that’s what they are called in Twitter.

Twitbear looks and feels just like Twitter, but it allows users to do something that serious tweeters have been missing for a long time – comment on threads. This feature will bring on the active discussion known from services such as Jaiku, which unfortunately has been faded by Google.

The first hours of Twitbear has been booming. Really looking forward to see how fast this will fly.

Should interview them? Sure, why not. I’ll grab my vidset and find them.

World’s first MOBILE Ignite

Posted by Janne Saarikko on October 9, 2008

Things happen in Finland again.

The eager activists of Helsinki startup scene arranged the world’s first mobile version of Ignite event. Ignite concept, something similar to Pecha Kucha, is a series of presentations where the presenter has exactly 5 minutes to go through exactly 20 slides, each showing exactly 15 seconds.

This first mobile ignite took place in a bus heading from Helsinki to Tampere for Mindtrek 2008 event.

This presentation was videoed by Floobs, so you can check the 5 minutes through if you so wish.

Persons in the video in order of appearance are: Kai Lemmetty (Floobs, cam+first comment), Ville Vesterinen (Nordkapp/Arctic Startup), Antti Akonniemi (Kisko Labs) and Jussi Laakkonen (Everyplay).

There’s more of these mobile Ignite’s coming up, go check their website.
