It’s here! Mark this date – February 23rd, 2009.
This is the day when a new Finnish service called Twitbear went to closed beta.
Twitbear is a project of three social media entrepreneurs – @anttiakonniemi @kaimaan, @heleneauramo – that’s what they are called in Twitter.
Twitbear looks and feels just like Twitter, but it allows users to do something that serious tweeters have been missing for a long time – comment on threads. This feature will bring on the active discussion known from services such as Jaiku, which unfortunately has been faded by Google.
The first hours of Twitbear has been booming. Really looking forward to see how fast this will fly.
Should interview them? Sure, why not. I’ll grab my vidset and find them.

It officially started today. The most important mobile expo in the world.
If you are not present (I’m not), you still want to be one of the first to hear what’s going on. I’ve listed some online channels that are busy during this week. If you know any other good ones, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

Right. I had a very lively lunch today with some really cool people I’ve learned to know through Jaiku. During the lunch we were talking the silly stuff, just to entertain ourselves.
Started talking about crazy and SO NOT event that we should organize. And to continue the story I said “yeah, let’s call it Tubethlon Helsinki or something”.
The discussion continued in Jaiku, and after Googling I realized that word “Tubethlon” does not exist anywhere! Stupid me, went straight ahead and reserved the .com domain for it.
Now, out of stupidity, I have possession of www.tubethlon.com but no idea what to do with it.
What is Tubethlon? What should I do with the domain? Or we actually, there was a group of three that came up with the idea.
Confused…

Mindtrek 2008, the 12th international digital media & business conference and leading Nordic social media event, started in Tampere this morning. If you are not attending (like me), there is like Jaiku reporting and discussion going on from several tracks and events. If you still have an opportunity to go, do it.
More information on Mindtrek.

I’ve been resisting some services that would be too addictive and would require too much of my time.
I’ve been blogging, youtubing, flickring, skyping, fringing, messagering and facebooking already for some time.
Now I’ve entered into the world of Twitter and Jaiku. And yes, it’s very addictive.
For me, Twitter seems to work in English and Jaiku in Finnish. That may be due to the fact that Jaiku is from Finland and Finnish language has very heavy representation in Jaiku.
I must admit that they are perfect tools and change the way how people communicate. For me they provide insight support on many issues, local information, my network updates and most of all, faster news than any media can provide.
Let’s see how Jaiku and Twitter use will evolve for me and for my network.
