RunToShop – Office nomad host company for June!

The announcement of June host company was delayed slightly due to many small things, including people traveling.

I managed to agree that RunToShop is the host company for June, starting from Monday. Thanks guys for agile moves!

Run is a place where consumers find the products their peers love and where buying is made easy by offering the most relevant and personal recommendations. Run brings tools for extending online shopping to communities where people already are deeply involved in. Users in Run will be rewarded for their efforts.

Run is located neatly in the very new Technopolis Ruoholahti in Hiilikatu 3, Helsinki. The building is packed with startups such as RunToShop and Muxlim.

I’ll be doing some things related to Run during this month, just watch your surroundings. 😉

In love with instant mobile video streaming

I’m starting find usable applications for streaming video from my mobile phone. Different services and technologies have been around for a while, but I just didn’t know what’s the whole point in using them.

Here’s one example – sharing ad hoc content easily.

This morning I was taking a tram to my Office Nomad site at Codento, when I bumbed into Jozsef Pap from RunToShop. I realized that I could actually take advantage of the moment and start sharing our ad hoc discussion with other people as well.

Here’s the very first and very short Tramterview. It’s in Finnish but next time we’ll do English.

This is done with my great Nokia E71, running Qik video streaming service over 384k (!) 3G connection from a moving tram. No editing whatsoever.

A new VC-startup blog to follow

Taneli Tikka, a successfull serial entrepreneur and specialist on social media startups, has started blogging. It can be found at www.tane.li .

The first few entries are very interesting reading to anyone in venture capital or startup businesses. Taneli has history with many interesting and successfull companies and services such as Irc-galleria, Dopplr, Muxlim, Runtoshop, Xihalife and Sulake (Habbo Hotel).
